Repairs for UCSB Residents


Service Description

Communications Services provides repairs for telephone and cable television services in UCSB-owned residence halls and apartments.

Before submitting a request for repairs, please refer to our Troubleshooting page to see if you can resolve the problem independently.

Telephone and Cable Television Services Repairs

Use our online Report a Problem form to get help with telephone and cable television service problems.

Alternatively, send email to repair@commserv.ucsb.edu, or call our Help Desk at extension 8700. Communications Services will open a trouble ticket to resolve the problem.

When reporting the problem, please supply the following information.

  1. The name and telephone number of the person reporting the trouble, and of the Customer of Record for the service (if different). This will allow a repair technician to contact someone familiar with the details.
  2. The specific location of the problem (e.g., the building and room or apartment number).
  3. A description of the problem. This may be as simple as "I can't get a dial tone." The more information you provide, the easier it will be to isolate the problem.
