Beginning July 2008, Communications Services is introducing a new simplified telephone service plan for UCSB residents that includes rate reductions and the elimination of surcharges. For just $17.50/month, this new standard plan provides unlimited local calling, and numerous calling features previously available only with an additional feature package. Moreover, the charge to install, move, or transfer the telephone line has been reduced to $20.00. Current customers with Measured or Flat Rate lines will be automatically converted to the new standard plan at no charge. A summary of the changes is shown below. These changes will be seen on the August 1 billing for July service.
