Voice Mail for Faculty and Staff

  voice mail

Service Description

Add Voice Mail to your telephone service to take advantage of these features:

*See Using the Voice Mail System for limits on message retention.

Voice Mail Outdial

Outdial is an optional voice mail feature for Voice Mail subscribers who need to be notified when important messages are waiting. When the Outdial feature is activated, the voice mail system sends a notice to the subscriber's cell phone or pager whenever a voice mail message marked "Urgent" arrives. There is an additional monthly fee for this service.

For inquiries about Outdial configurations or to add the Outdial feature to your Voice Mail service, send email to help@commserv.ucsb.edu, or call Customer Service at extension 8700.

Greeting Only Voice Mail

While the standard Voice Mail service allows callers to leave messages, Greeting Only Voice Mail service plays a custom greeting or announcement to callers, but the caller cannot leave a message. This is useful for redirecting callers or providing information such as office hours. This service may also be ordered in conjunction with a temporarily disconnected telephone line, so that callers receive a custom announcement. This mailbox is available for a small monthly charge.
